Cody Qualls has performed
professionally in multiple settings including musical theater, opera, a cappella, and rock/pop music both locally and nationally. He has been studying voice since the age of twelve. Trained primarily in Bel Canto technique during his early years, (a traditional Italian art song technique) he began to study under Dr. Scott Martin (a doctorate of the Juilliard School of Theater) to learn rock and pop “belt” style in his late teens. While on scholarship at the University of Colorado he studied under the direction of baritone and Grammy award nominee Patrick Mason for two years.
Qualls continues to study voice, employing the Estill voice model,
Bel Canto(classical), and lower diaphragmatic costal technique in both his singing and teaching. His experience in the recording studio includes the release of two full-length group albums (a cappella and rock), as well as individual session singing. |
