Diaphragmatic Costal Breathing

Many people say we are to sing from the diaphragm to sing correctly, yet what many people don't know is the diaphragm is not a muscle but simply a membrane. To move the diaphragm the "Ab" muscles must control it. So as you can see, one must go lower to establish the maximum potential of one's voice. (see below)

 
When breathing through the upper lobes of the lungs, an expansion takes place that makes one's shoulders lift. This is INCORRECT for POP and ROCK singers. (see above)
